In the beginning I had tried guided meditations online, and I just wasnt getting it. After riding out the worst of the breakdown, when I regained some mental stability I tried meditating again. And I understood it.
The thing about meditation is: you become more and more you - David Lynch
The quote above is so true.
What I find with meditation is it allows me to block out everything that shouldn't bother me in that moment, and it connects me to be who I am, and who I'm meant to be.
I started off with the 10 minute meditations. I needed anything at this point to stop me from feeling so low and over thinking. When it started to click I really felt the benefits off it. It helped me to learn how to control my breathing, and to breathe properly. Breathe properly? I know! Once I learnt how to control my breathing, it really helped with panic attacks.
I now do meditation all the time, in the morning, midday, before bedtime. I find if i do them in the evening I actually end up falling asleep cause I'm so relaxed! So I mainly do the in the morning to start my day off on a positive note.
My message here is that if you are trying to find who you are, or need a moment to 'clear the clutter', meditation worked for me.
I have added some of the meditations I do in the ' My self care ' pages in this website. If you have 10 minutes spare, give it a go! I share my playlist on YouTube of all the meditations I have done, all different ones.
Thanks for checking this self care practise out.
