I only started doing this in 2020, and last year proved to me that setting personal goals and ambitions is what gave me the strength to get through last year.
With everything going on right now, these past few days leading up to the NY I reflected on what I had achieved and where I am now; and I am really proud of myself.
SO, TO 2021
How do I plan my year?
Literally in the last two days, I discovered a Yoga Teacher that I watch on Youtube and how they review their year and set the next. Last year I did a vision board, which was so helpful and I still have done it this year. I will share what mine looks like in this blog.
So this year I have tried a different method to goal setting.
I do a lot of Yoga by Kassandra and I watched her video here on goal setting
I highly recommend giving this a watch to help with planning your year.
WHAT IS A VISION BOARD?
To create your vision board, you will need just a few things:
coloured pens, colouring pencils or markers
large sheet of paper (or you can use multiple pages in a notebook / word document online you can print after
If you're doing it online or on word, a printer is needed.
ON your vision board for the year, you'll want to add all the things you want to achieve, have in materials, or see happen ths year. And it's OK if you don't meet them all, but by having them down help give clear motives and intentions for the year to come.
Areas I add to my vision board:
Fitness and Health:
Yoga - I add Yoga as this is what I love. I really want to focus this year on Yoga so I added pictures of poses I want to achieve.

You'll see on this page too i added some text about different things. I will come onto those next.
Reading:
Complete 8 books - thats the goal i have set myself to read this year
Meditiation:
Why do I do it - I added some notes on my intentions for meditiaing.
Dance:
What do I want to achieve - I added why I do, and what i want to achieve this year in dance.
I studied it at Uni and have danced since I was 8 (wow 20 years ago!). I have let it slip over the years but it's something i absoutlely love, so why let it go!

My next pages included postive quotes, fitness inspiration and mindfulness activities. Things I can read again to inspire me and action if I start to feel lost at all. These remind me to get back to track.
I then added a page on what material things I would like this year.
For you, this could be a new car, a house, a job you want, or anything you have been wanting to buy for years!
Personally, I like to keep this one to myself as it's things that mean something to me :)
You can add anything else you like! Maybe some of the below might inspire you:
Travelling
Picking up a new hobby
To learn a new skill
To start a family
Find a relationship
Maintain current relationships
A promotion
and anything that means something to you
This is just a small exmaple of my vision board, and it really does make me feel like I have purpose in my own life. I am shaping my life to how I want it to be. And that's exactly what we all should be doing. This is for me, and no one else. And you'rs (if you choose to do one) should be for you too.
Happy New Year!
